The Froelinger-Friemann Botanical Conservatory opened in 1983, the result of a community effort spearheaded by two people.  The seasonal garden was full of Christmas!

The tropical garden reminded us of Florida.

Bird of Paradise

Hanging Lobsteer Claw (Heliconia pendula)

Pomegranate!  The Spanish used pomegranates as part of their Christmas decorations when they settled Florida.

We couldn’t see the name on this pretty Cattleya hybrid.

Probably a Paphiopedilum, commonly known as Lady Slippers

                Another pair of Lady Slippers

Cacao (chocolate!)

                Amazon Lily

We had fun in the Desert Garden searching for animals of the Sonoma Desert, dressed for the holidays.

                  Coyote

Quail

Jackrabbit

Roadrunner

                Bat

Javelina

Saguaro cactus

Barrel cactus

                Hatpin cactus

Jane loves sun shining through fountain grass.

I liked how they decorated the animals. Looks like this was a fun stop

I love sun shining through grass too. I never knew that variety was called Fountain Grass.
