Some things, like the Orono Bog, make better experiences than pictures.  The bog is part of the Bangor City Forest and covers about 600 acres.  It is the remnants of a lake left by glaciers and is slowly drying up.  The water has less oxygen than most lakes and trees there stay small.  The floating boardwalk was nicely marked with pictures and descriptions of  plants and animals.  We found ground orchids, rhododendron, pitcher plants, laurels, mosses and berries.
