The weather wasn’t bad while we were in Bridgeport, but the air quality was awful. Two days we didn’t venture out because smoke from distant fires made the air quality index into the hazardous range. On other days, however, the smoke and haze made for some interesting and beautiful sunsets.

August 1, 2022 Rock of Ages began quarrying Barre granite at Smith Quarry near Barre, Vermont in 1880.
