First National’s Pioneer Courage and Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Parks feature the largest installation of bronze and stainless steel works of art in the U.S. The pieces span seven blocks and are a snapshot of May 21, 1841. A wagon train is leaving Omaha in Pioneer Courage Park. It startles a herd of bison who stampede down the streets of the central business district to the Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness Parks where it flushes a flock of Canada geese. The sculptures are larger than life (1 1/4 size), beautiful and engaging. Some are poignant; some are whimsical.

Love those sculptures. I never knew there was anything like this out there. The picture of the woman and her children riding in the wagon was just so real. Love the animals and birds interacting with the buildings, fountain, etc. It all helps to give one more of an idea of what those long wagon trips must have been like. Does Dave get to keep the dog?
