Our friends Ray and Mary Turner winter in Fort Pierce and summer on the Severn River in Annapolis.  They graciously introduced us to their summer home  and surrounding area by sea and land.

Ray honored us with the first trip of the year on his sailboat, the Proud Mary.  We saw the U.S. Naval Academy and Annapolis from the Chesapeake Bay and then chatted on his deck as the river rolled by.  Our delicious supper was at Cafe’ Normandie.

The land tour included Annapolis, the Annapolis Yacht Club, and  the Naval Academy.  We loved the old buildings, the history Ray was able to share with us, and the art gracing the Academy grounds.

For supper, Ray drove us across the Chesapeake Bay to Stevensville on Kent Island.  At the Kentmorr Restaurant and Crab House we learned the payoff for picking crabs.
