Christian Immer was born in 1836 in Oberhafen, Switzerland.  He came to the United States through LeHarve as the Civil War was starting and fought for the 2d Missouri Volunteer Infantry in battles around Chattanooga.  His son, Emil Christian Immer, had a daughter, Christine Immer Foster, who had a son, Donald Immer Foster, who had a son, David Immer Foster.  Christian was Dave’s great-great grandfather.

Here is Dave at markers at Chickamauga Battlefield and Bragg’s Reservation showing locations where his great-great grandfather fought.

Love the pictures around Chattanooga and the history. Always tried to stop someplace on our way to or from Minnesota. Fun seeing your brother, Jane, and the rest of the family. Keep the blog coming! Really enjoyable!
