June 9-June 19, 2017

Ten days went so quickly!!  We monopolized any non-work time daughter Elizabeth and her husband Brett had.  We had fun Mexican food with Dave’s family (Jay and Sally Truett and Bob and Susan Weir), sharing stories of our nearly endless estate sale. We were delighted Dave’s nephew Chris McClure could join us for a couple of visits and more good meals (ask him if you ever want a recommendation for Italian food in Denver!).   Jane loved attending her goddaughter’s son Nathaniel’s dance recital (Really!  She had so much fun watching Nathaniel explore and develop his talent!).  And those were the memories where we neglected to get photos.

Jane’s college roommate and nearly life-long friend Madhuri Land did get photos of breakfast at Snooze.  Here are Jane, Madhuri and Madhuri’s daughter (and Jane’s goddaughter) Gray.  And below that are Nathaniel and Nicholas flanking their dad and (Gray’s husband) Peter.  More great food and lots of love!

We didn’t try making campground reservations till the week before our arrival and thought for a while we were going to end up moving from one Wal-Mart parking lot to another.  But, the campground at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds had room for us, although we had to move twice.  It was kind of like a War-Mart parking lot–but without the advantages.  Very grateful for the place to stay!

And say what you will about being crowded onto a gravel lot, sunrises and moonsets were phenomenal! Besides, we’ve learned it’s not at all where we sleep but what we do when we’re awake that counts.

Also, we stumbled onto some signs that set us to wondering.
