We finally took a trip to Mexico and by chance were there for its Tourist Day.

The trip itself is easy.  Most people park on the U.S. side and walk across a bridge (50¢ cross into Mexico; 25¢ to return) with a shaded pedestrian path.  No documentation is required to enter.  Returning, we showed our passport cards and breezed through.

That’s Jane in the aqua shirt and olive hat.

Nuevo Progresso is full of pharmacies (no prescription is required for many medications), dental offices, and stores carrying Mexican-themed decor.

We found the crowds, noise, and heat oppressive but checked out a couple of stores, enjoyed the costumes, and had a delicious seafood lunch.

Dave, Remember going into Mexico several times and never a worry about what may happen. Now I think I would be afraid to even cross. They stop so many people coming back. What a different world. You and JL could probably get $5.00 for me instead of the 25 cents you were asking….LOL
