We enjoyed watching flowers bloom and the landscape turn green as Spring arrived in the Rio Grande Valley.

Some of the flowers were familiar, many were ones we didn’t see on the Treasure Coast.

Sometimes on our walks came upon non-flowers that interested us.

Is that a jawbreaker at the opening of this ant colony?

Look just to left of center under the tree trunk for two out-of-focus javelinas.

Jane’s head illustrates why this is called a bird blind.

Can you see our smiles? We love these walks!

Alhough there are a lot of photos already in this post, we want to include some pictures of Sunshine RV Resort, the Harlingen park where we stayed for almost 10 weeks.

The park sponsored a hamburger lunch on the pool deck our last week. They sent to Sam’s Club twice for more food as they fed almost 400 people.

We enjoyed the people we met in the Rio Grande Valley.  We were introduced to some new birds and wildflowers.  We now have an appreciation for South Padre Island and for the Rio Grande itself.  The weather was much grayer and windier than we would have liked, so we expect to winter in Arizona in 2019.  For now, it’s on to Austin!

Just back from Arizona. Put Mt Lemmon in Tucson on your list. “Drive from Mexico to Canada!” and drop 30 degrees. We’ll be there next April with a car as we’ll be retired so we must get together!
